....is it growing, economy doing well with $60 oil. What is the hot new restaurant? How are the new baseball and football stadiums? Any other stuff going on?

Growth not what could be expected given oil prices.

Hooters to open in Odessa [no joke] in 6-10 weeks per today's OA.

Checking out the Rockhounds tonight. Stadium remains awesome place to watch baseball.

When did you graduate? I left for A&M in '89.

I'm still a little bitter about the new stadiums. we won state 3 times, but still played every home game at memorial. while I love that place and it has awesoem memories, I would have loved to play in that new stadum.

Ahh... Midland, my hometown. I think I still have a warrant out there if I remember correctly.

REPORT FROM CITIBANK BALLPARK JULY 21st -

Rockhounds won in the top of the 9th. The Corpus Christi Hooks had a man on 2nd with two out. The batter hits a base hit to right center, runner advances to third. The second baseman turns his head to check the runner, and the ball hits him in the leg and rolls off. The runner broke for home. Loose ball scooped up by the shortstop, throw home, tag on sliding runner, out, game over!

Beautiful night. The sky was mostly cloudy, but they were high clouds. The sunset turned the entire sky incredible colors. Breeze was a little strong to start, but sure kept the evening cool. Great place to watcha a ball game and have a brew.

AND, it was Thirsty Thursday! Half Price Beer & Sodas all night long!!!

I'm not from Midland, but I go there all the time! I'm from B.F.E, which can also be called the middle of no where between Midland and Lubbock...and it's not Lamesa. ha!

Used to have an acquaintance from Andrew's. I NEVER brought her home to Mama in Midland, and she could NEVER get me to meet her Mama in Andrews. Therefore, we compromised and took care of our needs in Odessa. No strings attached, them were the days!!!

Shout out to all the Bulldogs from the late 80s/early 90s!

TayAg08... you from Patricia? That's pretty much BFE, if I remember my drives to "the Hub City" in the past.

Andrews is too far west. He/She would have said between Odessa and LBB if that were the town.

Wow...pretty sure this is the first mention I've ever seen of Patricia on Texags...or anywhere else for that matter. Counting myself and TayAg I know of 4 Aggies from there ever. And for those of you that have been there, we're not from Patricia Proper - more from the suburbs around it. Just wanted to clear that up so we're not confused with all the riff-raff.

HighT04,
"Patricia Proper" and "Suburbs of Patricia"
People from other parts of the country or Texas for that matter may not see the intended or unintended humor in those terms.

Please know that absolutely no offense is intended, but we travel thru Patricia often on our way to Lubbock to see relatives. It just struck my funny bone I guess.

I grew up in what used to be a small town of 1760 people now more than half a million call it home. I lived in the "Suburbs of Katy" more commonly called "The Sticks"

I moved away from Midland again not too long ago - I miss it. It is really a nice place after you have lived other places. Some people complain that there is not much to do, but I promise Midland has more for entertainment than almost any city its size. Beautiful sunsets/rises, great weather - it's not too shabby.

I've been here since 1989. I can't imagine living anywhere else. Midland has alot to offer and it's a great place to raise kids.

I just left Midland in April of this year to the big city of Dallas. Boy do I miss those 5 minute drive to work. Also, the low/no humidity was great. It is really a pretty good place to live, except for being 5 hours from any other major city.
