I'm thinking of moving from CS to San Angelo in the near future, where my in-laws live. What's the Aggie community there like? Also, are there any good civil engineering jobs there?

I just moved from SJT to Tennessee this year but have lived there from 67 to 12/31/04. The local club is very active. Meets monthly, has 4 ea $1000/ yr scholorships, etc. Good group. Very diverse from class of '37 +/- to new former students. They meet monthly at Zentner's Daugher on the 1st Wed.

Check with Russell Gully at SKG Engineering. He just bought SK from Stormy Kimrey '58. Probably could guide you the right way.

Good luck.

My mother is active in the Aggie Moms Club of San Angelo. Apparently, there are some rip-roaring parties by that group!

I was born in Odessa, but had the good sense to live in Houston, where the action is.

Odessa, TX <--- A great place to be FROM.

My mom is in the aggie mom's club in San Angelo too. I think the A&M club there is pretty active.

My mother is also an AMC member. Not a whole lot of Ags out here. Maybe 14 from my 760 person graduating class from Central High School went to A&M. Pretty active A&M club. Coach Fran comes and speaks at Zentner's Steakhouse every June.

My mother's represents the Aggie Moms three times over (me, my sister, and my bro). Call it five if you include their spouses.

Several items there to discuss- I graduated from Central in 73 and we had about 15 or more go to A&M, including the future CO of E-2 and several Staff Rats.

Fran comes to speak at the largest coaches football clinic in the country every year at ASU. The other WT cities don't like that he doesn't speak in their towns.

The A&M club has about 130+ paying members and we normally have about 100+ for Muster, so for the size of the town it is in, that is pretty cool. The Mom's club is one of the oldest in the Association as well.

Aggiealltheway- you will find that folks either love Angelo or Hate it. I think it is a nice town to raise kids in. IF you are into major partying, etc. you may not like it. But there are things to do and there are a bunch of good Ags in places that can help you out!

definitely not into major partying... That life got old (after 10 years or so), I have responsibilities now, and I have Jesus.

Great group out there. I lived there when Stormey was the President. I was one of the $4,000 scholarship winners in San Angelo.
