I live in Austin now, but grew up in Winters. How many of you used to go to Rowena on friday and saturday night for dances. The drinking age ws 18 , no one ever got carded. Beer of choice back then was Schlitz. Do kids still go there ? Been gone 25 years . How time fly's

WOW!! I grew up in and around Rowena.. the dances were every 3rd Saturday of the month at the SPJST hall... beer was always flowing in large quantities... ah! the good ole days!

Graduated in '79. My parents moved right after that and I have been back maybe twice.

Dances were at ODHS back in my day (90s).

I went to one last summer on a Friday night. It was a good time. Only a 20 minute drive from San Angelo and a lot of good-looking girls in tight jeans.

my father is from Winters. Him and my mom met at one of those dances! a long time ago...
