Went to the game, UMHB spanked HSU 38-7!

I just have to say that HSU has some of the worst fans on earth! Very unclassy! My bro and I were getting cussed at by several guys for absolutely no reason, except we were there for UMHB. It was funny though b/c they kept talking crap and they were losing 24-0 at that point. What really bothered me, a guy was cussing like a sailor, who got ejected from the game by 4 cops, had Psalm 23 tatooed on his arm....very depressing.

Wow, the vaunted HSU must not have done so hot.

About the fans, I grew up in Stamford (45 minutes north of Abilene), so I know lots of folks who've got to HSU. While there are some that go there for a good Christian education, there are plenty that don't, and go to HSU (and the other two church schools in Abilene) for a couple of reasons:

--their parents went there, think it's a better school than Harvard or Yale, and give their kids no choice in the matter (Abilene Christian is the worst about that)
--it's close to home, and they can basically extend high school for another 4 or 5 years, be close to their girlfriends or boyfriends, have their parents take care of them, etc.

And the fans that you described would be common in either of those two categories.

Yeah one guy that got tossed kept bragging about winning the conference championship and flashing his ring at us....he didn't understand that playing in the natl. championship game was a bigger honor than winning the conference. It was unbelieveable. I felt like I was in Lubbock watching tceh get beat or something....classless, just classless. A lot of my family went to and graduated from HSU....I guess things have really gone down hill for them.

I know the first guy. He's a tool.
