Albany definitely ranks above Hamlin on my list, Haskell too. In my high school years, there were a few incredibly hot girls from Albany, so it was a quite popular town with the Stamford guys. We were always glad to see those girls arrive and improve the scenery at the Texas Cowboy Reunion.

And the burgers at the Icehouse were always worth visiting Shackelford County for.

The longer I'm here in CS, the more homesick I get for West Texas. I'm heading to Big Spring on Friday to spend Easter with the family, and I'm actually looking forward to that 6 hr drive!

Squid, The Sheik and WestTxAg06 ... This is a report on Doug Browning's old scarecrow on the Roby/Sweetwater highway (at the Longworth/Sylvester cutoff.) The scarecrow is still standing on the fencerow about 100 feet south of that intersection ... and surprise! ... it is now a she in a wedding dress holding aloft a bouquet of plastic flowers. This is not the first time it has changed genders but for me first time to see as a bride. That old thing is looking a bit bedraggled but that is to be expected I suppose ... it has been there for right at 56 years.

Miss the food, the mountains and no humidity. However, I enjoy trees and an occassional rain shower.
