I'm not sure that kind of stuff would be helpful in the typical Abilene Oil & Gas company.

you might check out these engineering firms
Lauren Engineers - ask for Clint Rosenbaum he's an Aggie
Enprotec, Hibbs, and Todd - David Todd is an Ag and his son is current Aggie golfer Trey Todd.

Clint at Lauren is a good guy. Todd at EHT is also a good guy. Like I said, both are Aggies and both are active in our local club. Clint has hauled thousands and thousands of pounds of potatoes to the fair each year. Volunteer to do that for him and I'm sure you'll score a job out of it.

Tell them Brandy send you.

Are you a native of the Abilene area, geogaggie?

Nope, from Galveston originally. I might be moving there cause my fiance may go to TTU pharmacy school.

Awesome, we'd be glad to have you in the area.

I was elated about Tech's decision to open up a pharmacy school in Abilene. That's going to be good for the whole Big Country.

the Tech Phar School will be a good deal for this area. But in a couple of months Hendricks is going to unveil it's plans for the area just west of the new school. You wont believe what they're going to do up there.....

I really need to read this board more often.

When did Tech decide to open a pharmacy school in Abeline. That's great news!

Second, tell me more about Hendricks? What are they planning on doing?

I believe they announced the plans last spring. They're going to open up next fall with 40 students and plan to eventually have 160 students.

Between that, the engineering graduate programs they've got going, and the graduate program in architecture they're considering establishing, Tech is really working to establish a presence in, and provide assistance to, the Big Country. Putting the school rivalry stuff aside, being a Big Country boy, I'm thrilled to death about it.

I've been threatened by a family member at Hendricks to not be posting the about their plans.....but I have seen the plans and they are impressive. Five years from now you will not recognize that place...

To be honest, I wouldn't recognize the place now (never been there).

I currently live in B/CS, but all the family is back West. To be honest I'm not that impressed with the healthcare scene in Midland/Odessa. What's y'alls take on Abeline? Do the Abeline hospitals have a good reputation.

This reason I ask is I work in the healthcare industry.

I've always thought that you're fine with the Abilene hospitals in most situations. If it's really serious or life-threatening, though, you're probably better off in Lubbock, where the hospitals, outside of Dallas and Houston, are the best around. That's just my opinion, based on experiences of people I know. Others may have differing views.

Compared to cities of similar size, though, the Abilene hospitals are probably the best you could ask for. Given the choice of the two, I'd take Hendricks over Abilene Regional.

in the past, if you needed nuero or cardio care you'd have to go to DFW. Abilene just couldnt keep those specialists here. The cardio thing got fixed and now we have some great docs. WestTx is correct tho', and most emergency nuero cases are flown to Lubbock
