Not really related but wasn't Rhodes on that Cooper team that got absolutely owned by Drew Brees and Austin Westlake in the state finals?
Yes he was.
I remember watching that game, never thought I was watching a future starting running back and QB in the NFL. It was close until halftime but then Brees and Westlake took over.
Rhodes was first-team all-state that year. Anyone care to guess who was second-team?
And Rhodes gets a ring and scores a TD in the Superbowl. Not bad for a West Texas boy.
