Howdy Ags! I'm an admissions counselor and West Texas area recruiter here at Texas A&M and one of my duties is to plan an admitted student reception in both Midland and Abilene during the week of March 19-23. This event will seek to welcome admitted students and their families to the Aggie Family. I would also like to open it up to any other interested Aggies in the area.

I need your help in looking for a good location to have such an event. I'm from Midland, so I have a few ideas there (but am still looking for suggestions), but I'm drawing a blank for Abilene. I would really appreciate any suggestions for a location and food.

Also, if you are interested in helping me with this planning, please feel free to email me at tkasberg@oar.tamu.edu.

Joe Allen's has a nice party/reception room, I have been to several parties/dinners there, no complaints.

I'm sure Abilene would love to help you anyway we can.

I'll send you an email or call tomorrow and get you in touch with our local A&M club officers.

Don't forget little old Big Spring. We sent 14 kids on scholarship (6 endowed) from the Howard County Club last year.

Howdy fuzzyfan! I am definitely not forgetting about Big Spring. Due to budget constraints, I can only have the receptions in two places (I chose the two larger areas), but I plan on inviting students from surrounding areas. More than likely, students from Big Spring will be invited to attend the Midland/Odessa receptions.

Tannehill is going to be a solid addition to the team. I think he will be a great defensive addition before he ever takes the field as a QB. He is too good of an athlete to be stuck behind McGee and JJ. Although, he is still a fine QB and punter. The AD in BS wishes he had a team of Tannehills, because of his work ethic and good moral character. That is all I know.
