it's ok. typical west texas town (which can be a good thing) football is king. kinda a dry area but not the worst of west texas.

pretty close to midland which is good if you want a small city around.

Very small, very flat, and very dry. Couple of convenience stores, dairy queen, sonic, mom and pop grocery store, and a car dealership.

Midland is about 15 miles away and the closest place to find somewhat normal life (for west texas).

Live in Midland, work in Stanton. Easy commute plus Midland is a nice city. Most people in the big cities commute that far daily and have to deal with traffic, you won't have that from Midland to Stanton. Also if you live on the north side of Midland you can take Loop 250 around the east side of Midland and get to I-20 rather quickly. Lots of nice housing, restaurants and shopping in Midland. Have any other questions just post them here.

Lived there for 10 years. Most of my family is from there, and still have relatives there. Not a lot to it. Very small, dry as stated both for alcohol and climate, and appears that it is drying up. Would suggest moving to Midland or Big Spring for a little more civilization. Not much difference in mileage from both.

Midland is where you go to eat and shop at the chains. Nice place to visit, but the cost of living in Stanton or Big Spring is MUCH less. Stanton has a really nice, but flat golf course. It is a private club, so you can have a toddy if you want one. Out here, it takes 15 min on I-20 to go from Stanton to either Big Spring or Midland. Come on out, we need some more of the good folks, to help fight those stinkin' red raiders.

Grew up in Midland.

In HS, we'd regularly go buy some beer and head to Stanton to play golf.

Had a buddy who used to do some sandhill crane hunting around Stanton.

We'd have gone to the football playoffs this year if we had beaten a mediocre Stanton team in our next-to-last game, but six fumbles (including one at the one-yard line) and five personal fouls will keep you from beating just about anybody.

Stanton has 3,000 friendly people and a few old soreheads.

Another thing to consider is that Martin County is a dry county. I'm not talking about climate either. Might not be a big deal, just FYI.

Grew up in Big Spring. Stanton is not that bad, but it can definitely be boring.
