How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'll probably be in Midland for the Christmas break and want to make a little money while I'm off. I'm a junior ME major, I've done electrical work (conduit, wiring, etc.), I don't mind manual labor, I can do computer work (a little programming, data entry/analysis), and would be open to nearly anything. I could work for about a month, and want to make $10ish/hr.

With all of the work in the Permian Basin, you should not have any trouble finding work over the holiday. I imagine there will be plenty of school work that is being pushed over the break. Send me an email if you do not find a job. I am in BS, but I might have a job south of Fort Stockton. fuzzyfan at crcom dot net

Any interest in custom home building?

Fuzzy, the employee shortage in the Basin is why I'm planning on heading home over the break instead of hanging around College Station. Fort Stockton is a little far to be driving everyday. Schrade, home building would be great.

All the restuarants in Midland are hiring. I was at cracker barrel tonight. Our waitress was from Arlington, working the Midland location until they hire enough people.

Probably not what you want. You might check with some of the electrical contractors in the area that are hanging Christmas lights. There will be a big demand for that and not much of a work force available to do it.
Should be good money.

I might be able ot help you out. I graduate in a couple of weeks, and am going to work for a measurement company in midland. I'll see if my dad needs any help like that. I usually do it, but now that I'm graduating, I get to do real work. It would probably be a lot of manual labor.

Bet you can land a great paying roughnecking job on a drilling rig during Christmas holidays. I used to always have a wonderful morning tour job waiting for me around Andrews in the 1960's. Kinda cold, but lots of $ back then....

Think anyone would take me on for that for just 3 weeks?

someone will be willing to give you a shot. with all the drug tests and everything, crews on rigs are pretty fluid. one word of advice, just bust your ass and you'll be fine if you decide to work on a rig

If you haven't found a job yet and have a resume that you can send, e-mail it to KevinAndrews [-at-] HavensGroup [-dot-] net and I will hand it out to a few people for you.

I saw that you had electrical experience. My dad is the head of the electrical dept at Bosworth. Call bosworth and tell them that your looking for a job just for the break and that you would like to be an electricians helper. My dad hires guys like that all the time. I worked every summer, springbreak, Christmas break untill i graduated last August.
