I grew up in Robstown (West of Corpus). Some people claim Houston to be "South Texas," but I know this is untrue.
Anyway, I now live in Conroe (North of Houston) and over on the West Side of town, there are several Taquerias, Fruiterias and taco trucks. I was cruising on that side of town today to find me some tacos and I spotted a grocery store I'd never seen before called "Budget Chopper." That's South Texas style, no doubt.
