My family ate at Freebirds in College Station during the Christmas Holidays. Food was pretty bad. Apparently, someone bought out the chain and is doing a rapid expansion. I went to their website and left a message about the lack of service and poor food. Yesterday I got a written apology and a couple of "comp"s. Not likely to do me much good since we don't have one here locally. I sent them to my son.

Hopefully they aren't going to ruin the place.

the GB was reporting they have some new food vendors.

I knew something tasted funny last time i ate there. I just thought I was use to the Mexican food down here.

I hear Chipolte > Freebirds now in B/CS.

My brother and I left the '05 Texas game at halftime and ran to Freebirds from Kyle for dinner. I missed the first 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

I think I may have had the first burrito kinda sold to the public out of the one in CS. I was coming out of Dudleys a little before 1:00 A.M. one night, I think we were actually going to try and get something to eat somewhere. Walking past what is now Freebirds, they were inside working on the place and the owner, actually I think it was two of them, were back messing with the kitchen.

Being slightly lit up my buddy and I walked in to check it out as the door was open, as aside from the Wing Joint closing that was the only significant change to NorthGate during my time at A&M. When we walked in, and they still had paper on the windows and such, we asked what it was, etc, etc, and so on and so forth. The guys behind the counter said they made burritos. I asked to buy one, they said they weren't open yet, but they had some rice, beans and a couple of other things and for a tip for the guys cleaning they would let us try what they could make (in hindsight I think they wanted some beer money). So they made up a burrito and wrapped it up and it was not bad, I think we each left $2.00. It opened about a week or so later.

Sniff..sniff...such a wonderful and heart warming story.

Had the same experience when I left a comment after I visited Freebirds last. The steak was poor quality. I hope they actually take the feedback we offered...
