My wife and I are flying in to Harlingen on Thursday to spend a day/evening in Nuevo Progreso and then out to SPI for a few days. Are the Spring Breakers pretty much cleared out? tia

Eats:
We liked Scampi's last time and the view is still awesome, but tonight, for a hundred bucks, the food was little and not all that, and service was meh. Wanna Wanna was also not as good as we remembered. Dolphin Cove is a cool place to hang out but one of the bartenders, the stupid little kcuf, was too busy trying to look cool and also overcharged $6 for our ceviche.

Surf stuff:
Island Native and On The Beach are good places for beachwear and board rentals.

Skim boards:
Busted my arse within 20 minutes and slammed my head in the sand. I saw too many young bucks ud=sing these things and it looks fun. I'll get better next time.

Nuevo Progreso:
Pretty cool little border town. Had some awesome fish tacos and Panchos Supremas at Arizona. Also had some beers and mariachi music at an impromptu bar.
