By now, we SHOULD have been fed the information for Muster. If I'm correct, its the main fundraiser for scholarships in our area....but its what, less than 3 weeks away now? I don't see any information on location, time, or donations.

Our local organization is pathetic and that is pretty sad to say. No other city/county/region would let their A&M club waste away into nothing like ours.

What's the solution you say? Get people in charge that actually care about our school in this area. Is there any reason that happy hours went bye bye? Is there any reason that besides us on here.. why aren't any older ags, or newly graduated ags not emailed/regular mailed/called for events?

Who actually does anything that they're "elected" to do? I say its time to reboot our organization.. even if its just us starting it up again. There's no reason every last thursday of the month goes by unnoticed. I'm not just talking about drinking it up either. There has to be a better way to serve our community as Ags and get future Ags into the school.

If this post offends anyone.. bite me or do something about it. Who's with me?

I normally have information and if I remember correctly, I usually get something 6-8 weeks in advance.

I know quite a few former students and recent graduates that were never contacted in regards to the local club. I was contacted when I moved down here. Who knows how they found me, but they did.

I normally have the info early as well. I remember mailouts and emails way before the event...but not this year.

Sui..trust me, there's more truth to be told, but holding back a bit for now.

I sincerely hope that by this time next year, things are radically different. I'll volunteer to try to set things in the right direction.

When I came back a few years ago, I couldn't find anyone from the A&M club. I had to find it myself through trial and error..and even then, events we're so poorly attended, it just fizzles away. Luckilly (or unluckilly) I knew about TexAgs and my liver has not forgiven me as of yet...

I was wondering this the other day as well. Can anyone please let us know that way if there are any last minute details we can help get the ball rolling. Plus, whoever is/was in charge of the happy hours go ahead and start those up again because I'm ready to drink.

You guys make me laugh. I think we're all responsible enough to find out where Muster will be held. You don't need to get your panties in a wad because you didn't get an invite. Last time I checked Muster was an open invitation. Did any of you send the Muster chair an email asking her where it would be held? I am sure she would have been glad to share the information.

FYI: 6:30 PM at Cielo Banquet Hall, 1101 East SH495, San Juan

I'll also send her an email informing her that it might be helpful to update the above site.

The last time I checked we get invites in the mail detailing who what when where. There is not one person outside of the Muster Committee/Group that knew that our Muster would be in San Juan this year.

I don't have anything to do with Muster this year. I didn't get an invitation in the mail either. Although, I did get a sponsorship form.

No one is getting anything in a wad, but someone asked a question and they got an appropriate response.

The link that was SUPPOSED to have the information was blank. How is anyone supposed to gather where it is from that?

Seems as if there are more than just a few that feel the same way on how things have been run so far. Back in the day there were notices mailed out to every Hidalgo-Starr County A&M club member.

Either way, now that we have the information pass it along to your friends and family so we can have a successful Muster.

Thank you for that info...any bit of help, well, helps me...it has been a bit crazy but I know God willing everything will end well!

I had sent the info to A&M 3 weeks ago, but I guess with their moving to a different building, things have been a bit hectic for them...I have spoken to them on several occasions and have left voice mails because they are really busy over there...Even their web guys were out and had trouble wit the Roll Call list on the web site...I also just received the letterhead last Saturday for the invitations and the envelopes just yesterday...a bit too late but they apologized and said I could use them next year...we went ahead and just printed out our own for this time since we were on a time crunch...

Again thanks for the info...I will call their web guys again...

too many youngters are "running" the local club. all they think about is "what's in it for me". the local old ags don't seem to care anymore. they let the young ags give it a shot but then got frustrated with the lack of productivity. let's get the veterans back in!

Sorry, long post.

1. Lets get one thing straight, Zinnia has been working her ass off trying to prepare for the best MUSTER event possible. First of all, she volunteered and the responsibility was gladly given to her, but no guidance or direction. Some of you may think it's just about getting a place and sending some invites, but it's hard work and a big time commitment. I, along with a couple others, helped Zinnia initially with a few brainstorming sessions. There are tons of details and decision-making where you're on your own. No club help. No club period. Could info have been broadcast better? Sure, but I for one commend Zinnia for the job she has done so far.

2. We all joke around with BBB, and she jokes back. But can we honestly expect her to do everything for our club when she is not even the club president. I think she's done more for our dingy club than any of us put together. She cares, but she also has other interests and other clubs she cares for. Appreciate BBB more or learn to live with a stale club.

3. Many, many complaints! When I graduated in '94, the almost non-existent club was run by vets. How big, how well-run was the vet-run club? Do we want that again? Now we have people bashing the club and MUSTER prep. What have you guys done to better our club except post rants? Honestly, please post specific examples of your contributions.

Does our club need serious revamping? Yes. Should we blame the MUSTER chair who volunteered her time for not properly notifying you about Apr21? Instead of rants, how about ideas and contributions.
