Yea we do it every year with our Aggie friends from Houston and Dallas. We have grown to 10 adults and 11 kids. Good times.

I think we have used VBO.COM the last two years to snag the huge house.

We stayed in a house across the street from the beach last week. Had a pool, hot tub, 3 br. My wife found it on vrbo.com also.

Frankerealtors.com. Best houses in SPI. Expensive but worth every penny. Away from the crowded beaches, but still a short drive to WANNA WANNA for afternoon beer, shrimp, oysters and beach watching.

It seems this year that more and more rentals are going to a 7 night minimum..anybody know why that is? We have rented a house in Padre for an extended weekend in the summer for 6 years now and I dont ever remember seeing 7 night minimums..maybe 3 but not 7. This year it seems like the majority require 7 nights?

They say that on the web sites but if you call them they will give you a nightly rate. I used Franke again this year and the web site says 7 night min., but when I called them they let me choose what nights I wanted. Same thing last year. Can't wait to go catch some reds and trout then hang at WANNA WANNA all afternoon.

well I didnt try Franks..but some of the other sites I contacted said we would have to stay the minimum..I dint find one that reduced the number of nights and we are going with that one. I too cannot wait to be on the beach at SPI and making my way over to WANNA WANNA'S for a little volleyball action then some cold beer and good eats! I absolutely love that place! Sadly though our trip this year is still another 4 months away

I hold it down and make sure the beer is cold and the shrimp and oysters are the best on the island. I'll be there in 45 days.

well now I'm back to square 1..I had emailed back a rental agreement but had not sent in any money yet for my rental and yesterday the owner gets an offer during my dates for a week..over my 3 days..He obviously went with the other guy..Any other suggestions?
This has been such a headache finding a house this year..usually its no problem..but still well worth the time and effort.

BTW - we usually have ours booked by January. There's great demand but it's even worse for us because our group is so large.

Again, if you don't mind paying go to frankerealtors.com They have lots of dates open. That is where we are staying. I have used Furcon also and they are good to work with.

Yea I don't like staying on the far North end for some reason. I like to be within walking distance to Boomerang's or Wanna Wanna's.

This one is next door to my house. It is always used, but everyone there seems to enjoy it. The one across the street is nice also..beach cabin.

I just used padrerentals this past weekend for memorial day weekend. Its the second year I use them and I have no complaints. This year we found an affordable house on the beach side with a pool. It was a 4 bedroom 3 bath off Saturn right by Blackbeards. They have several houses and condos.....check out their website.

If you don't need a house, Casa de Siesta is a really cool B&B a block from the beach.

Victory sorry for the slow response. The one next door has its' own pool and is listed on Franke (called beach walk) I think. The cabin does not have a pool.
