I have a friend who goes there often and loves it. I would consider him a pro/expert fisherman. His opinion is gospel.

this I have done.

Zapata sucks, but the lake is bad ass.

Made friends with some Mexicans in a camp on the Mexican side.....very generous with the partying.

Very good bass fishing if you can stay out of their commercial nets.
