Anybody else renewing their football season tickets or at least planning on making it to A&M this fall?

Everyone I tell about it gives me a look of confusion as to why I would continue to go.

Gotta have faith (and pray a lot)!

Having faith is one thing.. blindly donating $$$ to a team that obviously is going in the wrong direction is another.

As much as I like the school..the team is awful...and who knows when it will turn around.

What are the prices/donation levels this year?

Blindly donating? Well I wouldn't say that, let's call it support for your beloved school and hopes for athletic success. It makes me feel better.

The prices for bench seats in the East & West side are $399 for the seven games. The Zone varies in price depending on location but armchairs are $434.

There is a two sets of new "processing fees" ($25 snd $5) that were not there last year.

Face value for the t.u. game is 100 bones.

And the we are going to take you for all your willing to donate levels are still the same.

Have you done the 1/2 price upper level tickets instead? Maybe that can be an option.

I am not sure it is a "blind donation", but an investment. It sure is tough to support this losing program (that is what we are, simply stated) and pay top dollar for this, but you have to see how much "entertainment" you get out of it.

Can you just donate a certain amount, but then buy the cheapest tickets available to keep your points status up with the 12th Man Foundation?

Well as bad as it has been to watch the games in person. The atmosphere on Game Day is hard to beat. The weather this past year was great, old friends, good food, cold drinks, Northgate, just being back in CS, and the list goes on! All that is lacking is some Aggie wins at Kyle Field.

I sat in my seat for the OU game and for the first time was disgusted as opposed to upset by the play on the field. You look around at the facilities, think about the tradition, the generous giving, and the atmosphere and ask "why can't we win here?"

Anyways yes you can donate the same dollar amount and get cheaper tickets to keep your points. Which isn't a great big deal at this point I'm so far down the list.

I love my Aggie football win or lose I will support my team and school. I am going to renew my tickets and increase my pledge and hope for better days. When they come I'll at least still have my seats and all the good and bad memories through the years.

Well said, OXDL!

Ags love to complain about our beloved school and our teams. I bet a large number of the whining comes from people who don't contribute a penny or even go to games.
Does our football team suck? You Betcha!
Am I disappointed? Of course!

But I'm not a fair-weather fan. I can see where my $donations$ are going. Great facilities! And great coaches, for the most part.

Our athletic program as a whole is awesome!
Who doesn't get their Aggie pride riled up when our:
-softball team plays in the NationalChampionship
-girls bball team is Top 5
-boys bball team is more than respectable
-boys baseball projected to make a run for the NationalChampionship
-soccer team advances far into the tourney
-and track, golf, equestrian

Yes, I know it's not football, but again I see my donation producing results.

I'm confident football will turn around, but until then I'll attend the ugly games, cheer my ass off, drink good beer with good friends, and make lasting memories with my family.

I agree about donations to the general athletic fund. There have been some amazing hires at both the head coach and assistant coach levels.

The problem is that A&M is known as a football school, but our problem now is that we are horrid on the field. So far, Sherman has put together a very good recruiting class (in comparison to our 4-8 record last year) and I hope he can coach on the field and not just in the living room of kids. We really haven't seem any person DEVELOP FOOTBALL SKILLS the past 4-5 years while in the A&M system. Look at the number of Aggies on NFL rosters. Piss poor.

But as for entertainment, you just have to base your level of donation based on that. If you go to games and the performance on the field has an effect on your fun times in Aggieland, then I wouldn't go to the games at all. There is a lot more to do now in 2009 during a football weekend than there was back when we graduated. I think they are going for the football experience. I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't upgrade your seat locations due to the number of people who aren't renewing.

Being fair weather isn't bad. Everyone likes to brag about how "loyal" they were even during the lean times anyhow. Supporting a loser is not easy. Yankees are my favorite baseball team now!

Wow, I am posting some uselful stuff these days.

Good for you, OX!

I missed every game this year, but not because I knew we were going to suck. My son is playing football now, and I was a coach. This precluded every freaking game of the year. He is excited about next year too, so I don't know how many games are in my future...

I won't give up the tickets, though. It is a donation to the atheletic program, which is improving I think. More importantly, the Ags are going to be good someday and I want to keep my seats.

It's kind of like tax time...you know it's coming, you know it's gonna hurt, but you don't want to just not pay...

Sui maybe the move to SA has made you miss your RGV TexAgs friends!

Thanks Sandia. I hope you get the chance to head up to CS this year. I missed two games and it just about killed me that I couldn't go. Not sure how I would handle the whole season.

A-K I'm by no means in the big baller donation area. I'm in Sect 314 Row 7 Seats 5&6. The people around me are ol' Ags and don't get too excited about the games. Pretty sure they have seen it all from all the highs and lows through the years.

I'm hoping to donate more and move to 313 to be more towards mid-field. I enjoy my seats but it puts into perspective how good we had it as students. Now I have to donate $500 (250 per seat) to sit on the 3rd deck!

I'm on the 40 on about row 28 in 144. No shade but the atmosphere beats the West side by miles. Oh and it's a $200 per ticket donation.

We haven't decided to renew yet but I'm pretty sure we will and just not attend all of the games (for the first time ever).

Sui moved to San Antonio? I was about to ask him about The Hill since they started bringing in good bands.

And btw after 7 years we decided to sit this season out. We plan to be back in 2010. We still plan to go to the Arkansas game and at least one at Kyle.

No! Don't give up, have to keep it going! You won't get to be one of the Ol' Ags honored at half time for seating in the same seat for over 50 years now.
