Hubby & boys ended up going with Capt Murpheys at SPI for our deep sea fishing experience. I can say that the crew was super and very entertaining, very nice. The boat was very clean and in good order.

Limit was caught on Red Snapper.

I know my guys wouldve liked getting a different variety of fish, but all is well and had a good time.

Tell me more. I always go Bay fishing and have been thinking about deep sea. I heard Capt Murphs is really good. How far out did you go and how long? What else did you catch? Seasick?

They went out about 40 miles, and had a good time. The weather was great, the people on the boat were great too. They had about 15 ppl total on their trip.

They caught Red Snapper, El Dorado and Ling too. (red snapper was about 30 inches long..roughly 15-20 pd fish per fish caught)

Not sure how to post pics, will get details of the fish and post it then.

They had to be on the dock at 6:45am, and returned about 3:30pm ($75 per person/full day)

My guys brought their own cooler filled with bottled water and gatorade, sausage & cheese, crackers and gum, sunscreen and tylenol. They put sunscreen on before going out and did fine.

I had the doctor prescribe the dramamin patches for them to use, they put them on the night before as directed (behind the ear) No sickness for them at all. (Some other men where puking on the trip tho)

Ed, Mona, Steven, and Patric are good people. Very, very interesting characters, but good people. The Murphy's have forgotten more about slimy/snapper fishing than probably most veteran captains on the gulf coast know, combined.
