Authorities are investigating the deaths of four police officers in the Tamaulipas port city of Altamira.
The Tamaulipas Ministry of Public Safety (SSP) reported the officers' deaths took place on Friday morning.
The SSP reported that the officers bodies were found on a roadway. They had all been shot to death.
Authorities spent Friday morning investigating three other homicides across the state.

The body of another man was found on a highway outside Ciudad Mante. He had been shot to death.
Another homicide is being investigated in across the border from Sullivan City in Diaz Ordaz where a man was found shot to death in the Ejido Lucio Blanco.
