I have some copies of Rice and Beans, Albert and the boys were really, really good. You can check out an 09 version of "chato's out of prison" on Youtube. Rice and Beans was probably recorded and issued about 1991, maybe 1992. Albert and Joey were some hip dudes. I knew them pretty well back in the day. They were basically the house band at Coconuts on the Island for a long time and also played some spots in Browntown and other cities, but their big, big following was on the Island.
Their music was good enough for them to get a break, but they just never capitalized on it, Albert was the only one that was a true, true ride to the end musician. Some of their more popular tunes "la migra", "woke up with wood", "I'm doing fine", "21 steps".
I need to save my CD's, I know I have at least one and they are mighty scarce. If you are still up in CS, ask for Adan, who works for the Tap, he will probably have a good idea on how to get one.
