So I tore the acl in my good knee and now I need me some surgery. I'm a pretty big guy but an even bigger baby when non-ambulatory so I'm hoping to have the surgery done down in The Valley.

Dr. Sweeney in McAllen had done my previous knee surgery but apparently he retired. Anybody have any input?

dr cobos in harlingen is good. dr clark in harlingen is a butcher.

Dr. Owen is pretty good in McAllen (& he's an Aggie!)

My friend had a total ACL reconstruction with Dr. Sander and she's doing pretty good.

Don't know if Dr. Basset (sp?) in Harlingen still does them. He used to be with Dr. Clark. I know Dr. Owen and Dr. Sanders personally. Both are great guys but I thought that Dr. Owen was mostly for rehab.

Basset is literally world class but I don't think he does anything other than knee and hip replacements anymore

My grandfather had a knee replacement with Basset but I think he's only doing that sort of stuff.

Dr. Krishnan out of Weslaco came highly recommended but he won't operate at DHR.

So it's looking like I'm going to go with Dr. Sander. I met him and he seemed pretty competent. He did go to OU so who knows whether I can trust him after this past weekend.

Dr. Sander is a really good guy. They have been family friends for a while. His family owns Sander pharmacy in Weslaco next to the hospital.

Went to medical school at Baylor college of medicine with Dr. Sander. He is a sip, but a great guy and a great surgeon.

There are two Dr. Sanders am I right?

I'd imagine the one cutting me open is the younger of the two. Its hard to picture a surgeon any younger than the one I met with.

There is two. Michael went to school with me. He is the oldest and around 37. He has two brothers, both are physicians. One is ortho and the other is internal med, I think.

Doesn't that make 3...?
