Just curious if anyone has eaten at this place. My wife and I saw it about a month ago and stopped by for lunch but found it closed. There was a little piece in the paper about it on Sunday and we found out that it is only open late in the week in the evenings. We went last night but it was so crowded that we couldn't get in and they suggested that we call ahead for reservations. I think we will but I was curious if anyone else had eaten there and their experience.

Mrs Rat and I went to eat at Schneider's last night. It isn't a very big place and it is VERY popular with the Winter Texans. You can see the location/menu/prices/etc at their web site. They are only open in the evening on Wed - Sat.

It is a genuine German place. Most of the folks that work there have German accents. The food is German and they sell German Beer. The food was good but service is slow. If you decide to go, I suggest that you call for a reservation a couple of days in advance.
