I noticed this post and was thinking it sure would be nice for the valley cities to control the panhandlers and streetside venders.

I know that in McAllen it isn't legal to setup and sell stuff on the side of the road. It must not be in Edinburg because I live near Alberta and Trenton Road and see people selling puppies and other stuff almost everyday on Trenton near my house. Must make tax-paying store owners real happy that these people can just set up on the side of the road and sell stuff without paying taxes or taking up sales tax.

start with the yard/**** sales. there's a few houses around me where they'll have garbage out front every weekend.

I don't know which city you live in but some cities require you to have a permit to do garage sales. I used to live in McAllen and had a garage sale....the city required a permit. Your city may also and they may not be enforcing it. You might call the city and complain and see.
