My favorite Chinese place, Dai Tung, seems to be going down hill. Just wondering if anyone has found a good place. (Please no buffets - they are nasty by definition!)

Oh I forgot...in the Edinburg - McAllen Area

Chinese place in that ugly building on 10th and Martin is pretty good. I have been there three times since it opened a couple months back. We plan on going again soon.

It is not far from my house if you are talking about Xin Xin. Haven't been there yet but will have to check it out. There was a review of it in the Sunday paper and it was so-so according to them.

A friend and I went to Kitties Express off Nolana In front of the movie theatre out of curiosity one day. Was actually pretty good. Mix of Chinese, Vietnamese and tex mex. We've been back a few times since. The pineapple chicken is delicious.

That kitties place lost me after they ran out of chicken on a random weekday evening. We ordered, sat there for 10 min, then the guy came back and said they were out of chicken.

I guess if we had been told that when we ordered, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. Just the wait for nothing was aggravating.

I had Dai Tung on Saturday and it was just below normal, but still very good.

I remember Quick Wok in Edinburg by the Courthouse was always pretty good but not a sit down type restaurant like Dai Tung or Royal China from back in the day.

Wife and I ate at Xin Xin today. Not too bad. Place was clean, food was good and the waiter was friendly. I noticed that everyone else in the place was speaking (what I think)was Chinese. If those folks like the place, maybe that means something!

Does no one else see the humor in a Chinese/Vietnamese/Tex-Mex place named Kitties Express?!?!

+1 for Le Lai. It's the only place for Chinese the wife and I go to down here.

FYI. Wife and I ate at Xin Xin again yesterday and all the positives that I mentioned last time are valid. UNFORTUNATELY, for a place at lunch it is pretty expensive. We spent $28 (including tip) yesterday. Thats not much more less than Hiachi's. Probably wont eat there often.
