I have been a subscriber to the monitor for over 30 years. I like to read the paper but understand why some don't. Yesterday we got our bill for the upcoming year and it was a huge increase. My M-I-L had her bill double.

I contacted the Monitor and asked them if they were trying to shut the paper down and they admitted that the increase was a lot and dropped the price some. Still too high but I just hate the news on the TV stations. I only paid for 6 months this time and wife and I are discussing if we really need the paper after all.

I quit paying for it 10 yrs ago but they still deliver it. I've called several times to get the free delivery stopped ........ to no avail.

I would say that that falls into the "it's their tough luck" category! Maybe, if they paid closer attention to their work, they wouldn't have to raise their rates so much.
