I had an overnight fishing trip planned for later this week, but I just found out that our fishing cabin recently burned down. I'm being told that it was probably lightning. It was located in the bay about 15 miles north of the S. Padre causeway.

Now that we do not have a cabin, my overnight fishing trip to south Texas is looking like it will be just a day trip.

I wanted to see if anyone knew of a fishing cabin that might be available to use/rent. If anyone knows of a fishing cabin where I could do some night fishing, please let me know.

www.dunkinguide.com. Doug Dunkin is the guide and runs the family's fishing cabin just north of Three Islands.

If you have your own boat, try Casa Arroyo or Posada del Colorado, but neither of them get the fish under the lights like they do on the bay. The Dunkin house is well know for its night fishing.

I just tried Doug... He doesn't have a cabin on the water for rent.

Posada del Colorado - The owner is out of the office but will checking on availability and will call back this evening. He gave me a few other leads, but none of them had cabins in the water.... only beach front rentals.

Dayumn, I'll have to update my info. Doug can be a dick which makes me wonder about his comment regarding the Dunkin house. Maybe it was already booked.

John Spencer owns Posada del Colorado and it may be full for cast-n-blast folks for the opening weekend of whitewing season. Bummer.

Doug told me that he had a personal / family cabin, but it wasn't for rent. He did refer me to John though.

John still hasn't called back. I'm out of leads... It looks like I might be sleeping on my boat or not sleeping at all.

I'm doing that on Sept 1-2. But I'm fishing on Friday & Saturday (until the game starts).
