Yes FNB went under recently and there are a few other local banks with "issues". There may be some "restructuring" of some of these other banks in the near future.

We have gotten several calls and texts from Plains. I'm not sure where they got our name, we have never banked with the National Bank. We have always used S.T.F Credit Union. Pretty irritating.

It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out. To the best of my knowledge, Plains Capital has never done a takeover anywhere near the size of FNB. Also, who really knows where the bottom is with FNB? Only time will tell and it sure isn't over yet. I think Plains is a fairly good organization, but FNB on the other hand, good luck.

After several days of events and research.......

1. Supposedly PCB was the ONLY institution that agreed to take over FNB and did so only with FDIC guaranteeing ALL the existing classified loans.

2. All the contacts made by whoever is phishing for PCB account information have been made by cell phones. In fact, all that I have heard of were AT&T Mobile account holders and some computerized dialer is hitting them up by voice and text. PCB customers might be being targeted because of the FNB acquisition and the knowledge that they might be easier targets because of the "newness" of the relationship and the fact that many are opening/reopening debit card accounts.
