I had not heard of KoKos opening in Sharyland. I knew that one of the brothers had opened a hamburger joint in Sharyland, named Marco's. It has hamburgers made of steak and was named as the best hamburger in Texas on the Texas Bucket List, but no KoKo's in Sharyland. (The burgers didn't do that much for me.)

I usually eat at KoKo's on Monday at lunch so I'll ask.

I had a talk with Albert today and he said that they had been in negociations for a lease for the past 7 weeks to put in a new place similar to the current location on N. 10th. He didn't seem to be aware of the sign. He said that the outlook was bright that it would begin soon. The location is on the south side of the Expressway next to a place called Mambo's. (That actually is in McAllen not Sharyland but most people think of that as Sharyland.)

So no specific date set but it is coming.

Who is Albert? Did Beef O Bradys close off the expressway?

BTW went by Gonzalez burger in Donna last Thursday for lunch. I didnt believe my buddy when he said they start lining up at 10:30. We got there at 11:30 and there was no place to sit AND there was an hour wait!

They are open from 11-3 or until the meat runs out. I think they do 200 pounds a day.
