This last week my sister and I lost our mom who was living in an assisted living home in Corpus for the last year. She and my dad raised us in Pharr where we both graduated from PSJA High when there was only one of them. We also both graduated A&M and mom was the proud President of the Rio Grande Valley Aggie Moms for a while. We were blessed beyond belief to have had our parents and to have lived in the Valley when neighbors and friends meant so much to each other. It was a different world from today's and in a way we will be laying both to rest on Tuesday in McAlllen. It will be a sad occasion but full of memories of the great times had in the Valley. I will miss my parents and have been missing the Valley of the past for awhile now. But time and tide wait for no man.
