Laura is sort of looking more and more like it could be headed for us. And it seems to be projected to be major. Getting a bit worried about that one.

It could be a major for sure but I would be more than shocked if it directly affects us.

I hope you are right! But, I also do not wish that storm on anyone else.

That is a powerful and hard storm for sure. Pre development and population growth, that is a great area for it to hit. Now? It is gonna be harsh and disruptive to the max. T&P's for the folks up there.

Models are keeping this well south of us. Hopefully it stays that way.

Don't look now but the models are showing an actual cool front for us on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Thanks for all the updates. Glad to see that one is not a threat to the Gulf Coast.

The Euro is developing this in about 8-10 days now. For us. Just in time for Aggie football.

This is estimated rain from today thru the 24th:

10 days from now on the Euro (which is almost fantasy land as far as strength and position but it's worth mentioning that it is finally developing that wave):

Man, that is really interesting. Now you will have me watching and trying to figure this out.

Historically late September and October storms are not very strong for South Texas and the western gulf, but they can be extremely wet. There was one in October of 82' or 83', might have even been 84' that dumped a ton of rain in Brownsville , SPI and PI as it slow tracked up the coast going inland just north of Mansfield.

Been interesting rain pattern for the RGV the last 3 to 4 years.

They're expecting it to eventually get picked up by a front and move off to the north/northeast.

So, do you have any thoughts? Not looking so good for us. They seem to keeping pushing it further northeast up the coast with each new update.

Ha sorry - yeah - I was out of town this weekend way up in NE Texas. That drive SUCKS btw. Holy crap. The I-35 corridor can kiss my butt but it's a solid 30 minutes faster than the back roads. Drove through a good 2 hours of solid rain/torrential downpours Thursday afternoon between here and Three Rivers on top of that. Terrible.

Anyway, I wasn't too concerned about Beta as it always seemed to be aimed a little up the coast. It turned out to be not much of anything I guess.
