Howdy Ags! I'm from Houston and am going to Choke Canyon this weekend for Labor Day to visit my parents camping at the state park on the lake. Any good points of interest I should check out while I'm down there?

I hope you're spending a few days there, because I'm not sure you can see it all in one day.

The Pizza Hut there has a great lunch buffet. All you can eat. You might want to check that out. Oh, and the Dairy Queen's pretty new. It's a major tourist spot.

I would take a visit to the oil/gas refinery there.

Also, there is a 2 screen theatre there that should be showing the latest movies.

i would recommend taking a trip into mexico. it's like a 10 minute drive.

Directions to Choke Canyon: South Shore Unit is located 3.5 miles west of Three Rivers on State Highway 72. Calliham Unit is located 12 miles west of Three Rivers on State Highway 72 to Tilden.

Three Rivers is a long way from Mexico.
