Moving to the Tyler area in the next few months and I'm currently looking for places to live. Any suggestions on good/not so good places?

South Tyler between 110 and 155 is prob ur best bet. Unless you like brick roads then you can live in the historic district if you're into that.

What's bringing you up here?

I really like my area. It has one neighborhood that starts around $135k. Other neighborhoods that run north of $1mil...(not my house)...

We are just south of the new loop (49) on the east side of Broadway (69).

Neighborhoods named The Brooks at Cumberland Place, Baker Plantation, Vanderbilt, Cooks Ranch, and Saddle Brook (the most expensive).

It's a bit more quiet out here. Yet you can be in the main part of town in 10 minutes. We moved from the DFW area, so that's what we wanted. To us, It seemed silly to move to a smaller town and attempt to achieve the city life. But we have friends that love living in town.

No kids, so not too concerned with school. I just got hired as a sales specialist for a building materials company, so I'll be covering Tyler/Waco and the surrounding areas.

Stay out of Country Place......those people are trashy.

Are you wanting to buy? Rent?

If you want to be able to get to stuff quickly (food, shopping, theaters) I'd say either side of south Broadway (323 south) without going too far east. West side is probably preferable towards old Jacksonville.

I may know of some houses for sale if you want to bump up my property value.

Hideaway Lakes...play golf and hang out on the lakes, forget about work.

We were in same boat as you 6 years ago. Picked Hollytree area and loved it.
