My father in law has been in Mother Frances since last Saturday with heart issues, 89 will do that I would guess. My wife is an only child and has been with him the entire time and I'm splitting my time between home and Tyler. Instead of staying in a hotel as she has been doing, I thought about getting a VRBO for her so she's more comfortable and not dealing with the hotel rif raf.

Looking on VRBO & AirB&B and was shocked at the lack of homes or cottages available in the city proper. I've searched B&B's but they're crazy expensive and booked way out. Any thoughts of where I could look beside the same old same old. Would like to be as close to the Med Center as possible but can't be choosey. Appreciate any help offered.

Have you looked into Hospitality house in between the two hospitals? It may not be fancy, looks clean-- my Dad stayed there once when Mom was in hospital. The long term residence on Troup turned in to Motel 6 , so is sketchy now. I will see what i can find.

Thanks for that suggestion She's going to bunk with a cousin for a few days. We'll see how long this goes. Hoping he's released soon.

I work there and I can confirm he has a great doctor. There really isnt much to offer rental wise in Tyler, outside of hotels. If you look in the Chandler, Brownsboro, Edom area you might find more air b&b type places. Thats about 20 minutes from the hospital though. Prayers for a quick recovery.

Staybridge suites is a good option if no VRBOs are available. We stayed there while our house was under a major remodel. We had a pretty good experience.

Sadly my father in law passed on Thursday but was lucky enough to be with him when he passed on. Sat with him and played Waylon Jennings and Merle for him as we waited to get transported to Hospice of East Texas. The transport didn't make it and he passed away peacefully. Thank to all the people at the Heart Hospital.
