Lost to Gladewater 28-19.

Losing to 3A schools... nothing has changed since I played there.

Well, wasn't this years game with Gilmer a little closer than last years that was on tv?

As I recall, they were tied at halftime and accumulated 9 total yards in the 2nd half. (I read that in the news-journal when I was home... I think)

How long until one of the Hawkins kids takes over as head coach?

And since we're playing SMU this weekend, I'll be on the look out for Dickie Meeks. His son plays there.

The Hawkins family are very fertile. Every black person in E. Texas is related to them somehow, if we are talking about the same Hawkins family that is.

PTHS football hasn't been the same since we had Rodney Jones at RB.

My Soph. year we made the playoffs, and Jr. year we should have.

I think they made the playoffs at 5-5 my sophomore year of college too.

I don't think they've done anything better than 3-4 wins since.

We had R. Jones back in the late '80s when we were still playing Longview in football and could beat them. We had some pretty decent teams back then.

None of this .500 crap that got you in the playoffs. That should be illegal.

Nope. He transferred to Northwestern State.

Pine Tree has a football team? I don't believe it. Seriously though, the football team is just a conditioning sport for soccer, baseball and the occasional basketball players. Well, it will be until i graduate and they hire me as king of all pine tree and i in turn higher myself as football coach and bring in state championships until i decide to retire. Or more realistically, they hire me and i win a couple of games a year like every other coach has since our move down from the Longview/Tyler Lee/JT district.
