As for the redneck and illegal factor; not any worse than any other town in TX. East TX just has a lot of 'Lousyana' redneck trash that makes it seem worse than other places.

I would love to move back to the Tyler Area but the lack of Engineering jobs (compared to Houston) is keeping me here. I keep looking though.

What kind of engineer are you? I work for an engineering company in east texas.

I used to work for the only big Engineering company in Tyler, Howe Baker.
However I was not an engineer when I worked there.

I work with rotating equipment (pumps / seals)

I work for Lewis Engineering in Marshall. We are always looking for engineers. If you ever want to move back to the area let me know.

Hey guys, I'm trying to sell this poker table I made last spring. There's nothing wrong with it, other than the fact it's too big for the room I have now. It cost $300 to make and I'm looking to get around that back. I would preferably like the buyer to pick it up, (I live in Denton) and if so I might be able to take more off the price.

Make me an offer and sorry for the huge picture (although it allows you to see it in greater detail).

As far as I know hand-made tables like this go for between $500-800.

I've had that exact photo displayed in a frame on my desk for the last 7 years. Everyone that comes into my office thinks that they are members of my family. I've never really corrected anyone.

East Texas Rocks, however dry counties, baptists hypocrits, mullets and rednecks, low i.q.s, and non affliliated longhorn wannabes suck hard.

At least you have tree's in East Texas. The weather is a fair argument, along with the lack of jobs. But east Texas has very affordable cost of living.

Biggest draw back I found on my trip back to East Texas was the lack of Aggie activity. Couldn't even rally anyone to get together and watch the NIT tournament. LAME!!!!

East Texas doesn't suck, the only people that suck are the one's that thank they do. The people are hard working people, thru sacrifice give their children a better chance than they had by allowing their children attend A&M, those that let their children go elsewhere, well they may suck.
