Is East Beach still closed? I know it was hit hard by Ike but if I remember correctly its the only beach that allows alcohol. Is this still true?

The beach itself should be open, we drove out on it the other day. And yes, you can drink on East Beach.

As far as showers, restroom, food, etc. I wouldn't expect any of that to be available right now.

It's open. The pavilion is gone, and there is work going on with dredging I think, but it's open.
