Going to be fun!

I'm ready to kick it off. Although, it is taking everything I have to stay in town the first weekend. My buddy in New Orleans is trying to get me to come over. It very well could be the best Mardi Gras that city has ever seen.

What's the deal with the balconies downtown this year? There was only 1 open for the first weekend!!! What a waste of space. Is the city trying to limit the downtown activity going forward?

I know there was a push to get awnings certified for live and dead loads by Jan 29, 2010. Maybe downtown owners didn't do this? It was pretty dang weak out there last night with only the Roof Garden in operation.

They aren't trying to limit activity. If you want to have people on your balcony you need a permit and railings. Nothing has really changed in that regard. Maybe it was a down year? Did you make it this past weekend to see if more balconies were used?
