We'll soon be taking a trip to Port Aransas and I'm reading horror stories from the other Gulf states about various sicknesses developing after exposure to the pollutants in the water.
I realize that the vast majority of the oil/dispersants have headed away from us but I still have concerns about getting my baby in the water at Port A.
Anyone live in the area or been there recently that can comment?

I live in CC and have heard nothing re any problems. The A&M corpus campus has a gulf studies institute and so we hear just about everything. Nada.

I was out fishing at the National Sea Shore last weekend and didn't have any problems. Two weeks before that I was south of Panama City in Florida and didn't see anything there either.

You should be fine.
