I posted this on the Outdoors board also. Has anyone ever Deer hunted in Orange County? I have an offer to get in on a cheap lease. I'm considering it just to get into the field. I was under the impression that there ain't much out there. What say you?

not much in Orange County. Go a little north to Newton, Sabine, or Tyler counties. You will be diappointed with Orange County.

I grew up in Orange County and never heard of anyone hunting deer in the area. We would travel northward up towards Warren and Woodville to hunt.

I grew up in Orange too & never heard or knew of anyone that hunted in the area. They would all go elsewhere. Plus it isn't a place you would really want to visit.

What say we is there ain't that many deer in orange county. What part of orange county are you talking about? The place is ecologically diverse - from gulf coast marsh to piney woods. The only place I can think of in orange county that MAY hold deer is the Mauriceville area. Other than that, you need to head north. Or west. WAY west.
