With so many of the piers wiped out after Ike, are there any kid-friendly places to take kids fishing? Kids are all 10 and under so wade fishing is not really an option, even on the bay side. Thanks in advance.

I know nothing about fishing, but what about just fishing off a jetty?

Yeah, jetty fishing can be great, as long as conditions are right. Need green water that is in casting distance.

There is a bait camp called Fat Boys just before you get on the causeway. Take exit 4 as if going to Tiki Island. Their pier isn't as big as the ones on the seawall, but it should work for the little guys. Give them a call (409) 655-5150 and see what they have to say.

Another option is Offats bayou on 61st st. There is a pretty big deck by the boat ramp. I just passed by and people were still fishing. Plenty of room there.
