I'll be in Port Lavaca for a few days next week. Are there any decent eats there? Local lunch spots? Dinner spots?

Whites BBQ is pretty good.

El Patio is supposed to be good for Mexican. Bayside for seafood.

Whites BBQ makes a bad ass hamburger too.

Shellfish - very fancy for PL, but if you eat in the bar, it's a little more "normal"

There's a billion mexican resturants to try. I'd recommend El Patio

If you have time to drive to Seadrift, you can go to Barkett's. I think there may also be a boiling pot type place there. I've heard friends on FB talk about it, but not sure where it is.

And I think there's a steakhouse place on Main St. Or there was a year ago.

Do you think Shellfish will have the game tomorrow night?

Sorry, I'm late replying. But yes, they normally show most games. I know my mom and sister watched the Cotton Bowl and the A&M/Baylor bball game there.

They were closed Monday, so I called Tuesday to verify and they did show the game. They closed down early though because of the ice, so I only got to see the first half.

Very cool place, seemed like it didn't belong in Port Lavaca.
