So apparently I either suck at google, or there isn't much out there, but I can't find much in terms of good places to fish around the NOLA area. There will be a fairly large group of us (probably 10 or so) and we would probably just want to fish on the shore/pier instead of renting a boat or getting a charter. My question for you guys is, are there any good spots for fishing in the area and secondly, are there places to rent rod and reel?
I'm thinking Lake Pontchartrain would be the best bet, but I'd love some input from those who know the area better than I do. Thanks!
