Heading to Galveston for a couple of days. Any recommendations on where to get some good seafood, or things to definitely see while there?

Moody Gardens is worth the trip, especially the Aquarium and Rainforest pyramids.

If you have kids, Schlitterbahn would be another good choice.

Places to eat:

- The Spot for hamburgers, seafood, and drinks (located on Seawall near 32nd street)
- Shrimp N’ Stuff is a hole in the wall seafood place (located on 39th street, the cross street is Avenue O)
- Benno’s has good fried cajun seafood/ casual (located on Seawall near 12th street)
- Star Drug Store for sandwiches and burgers ( located on 23rd street, the cross street is Post Office)
- Original Mexican for good Mexican food (located on 14th street, the cross street is Market)
- Salsa’s for decent Mexican food and happy hour margaritas (located on Seawall near 45th street)
- Sunflower Bakery for breakfast (located on 14th street, the cross street is Post Office)
- La Kings is an old fashion ice cream/candy shop (located on the Strand, cross street is 23rd street)

Things to do:

- the beach
- sit over the water at Murdoch’s Bathhouse and enjoy a beer and the breeze
- go for a ferry ride to Boliver
- shopping on the Strand
- Putt Putt golf (located on Seawall, near 90th street)
- Moody Gardens
- Tour a historic mansion (Moody Mansion, Ashton Villa, and Bishop’s Palace all located on Broadway Blvd.)
- Tour historic ship and watch The Great Storm documentary (on Harborside at Pier 21, right next to Fisherman’s Wharf)
- Rent a surfboard at Underground Surf Depot (on Seawall near 47th street) and go surfing
