So we're taking a trip to Galveston tomorrow and Thursday. We were planning on going to the beach tomorrow and Schliterbahn on Thursday. However, a little over two weeks ago my son had ear surgery and the doctor at the time said it would be healed by now to go swimming.

Cue to today at the post-op visit when his doctor now said it's still healing and he cannot get it wet for at least two weeks.

We visited Moody Gardens last spring and we were not impressed. Is there anything else to do in Galveston for kids?

Ride the ferry, see the dolphins, feed the seagulls.

Waterfront, has s ome ships, offshore rig museum. Rigs in various state of overhaul.

Lone Star flight museum, WWII aircraft to include B17.

Fishing with bait off rock groins.

In addition to islandag's suggestions:

Go to La King's (old fashion ice cream/candy shop) on the Strand.

Murdoch's Bathhouse- sit out over the water, have a drink, and watch the waves roll in
under you.

Putt-putt golf- on Seawall near 90th street

Tour historic ship, the Elissa, and watch Great Storm documentary (on Harborside at Pier 21)

Take a harbor tour
