I lived down the street at the Whittington for a few years and have been to a few get togethers at the Landing.
Good stuff:
The units are nice and roomy
The pond is a very unique attribute if you are into ducks
The pool and meeting room just got fixed up
They are planning on expanding to the open field for more room
The neighborhood has a very "close" feeling
It's on the north side of town, which means less crime and Buffalo Wild Wings within a mile.
Bad stuff:
If you aren't into ducks, too bad.
The complex is under the rent adjustment program, so you may have some poverty-level neighbors, not that there is anything wrong with that
People drive like idiots on the streets surrounding the Landing because they are the "back roads" folks take to avoid cops at night.
Did I mention the ducks? They crap on everything
The area across Mallette is slated for development (as well as the open field at the Landing), so if you like the rural country feel of the place, kiss it goodbye.
I have not had good luck with the management, but that's probably because I don't live there and am seen as another person trying to use their pool or scare the ducks with my dog
In all, if you can get a place there, snatch it up. It's better than most other complexes in town, but that's not saying much.
