My family is staying in a house on Tiki Island this weekend. It's on one of the canals and I wondered if anyone had advice for fishing rigs, bait, etc. We're going to have 10 kids and they'd enjoy catching, but may not have much patience for fishing!

Also, any recommendations for the best public beach area on Galveston island would be appreciated also.

so what kind of bait do you use when you fish for kids?

everytime I catch a big fat one my line breaks.

If they have fishing lights off the deck - Live Shrimp. Most try to put it under a cork but you have to watch the depth. I free line the shrimp and the trout love it!

With the little kids the cork is an easy way to go. If they don't care what they catch fish the bottom and you will catch something.
