Stayed in Port Lavaca a few nights this week. Had a shrimp pot at Art's Fish House last night and almost killed myself. They claimed it was only 1 lb shrimp, but had to be more, two sausage pieces, 2 corn pieces, 2 potatoes. I got the hot and flavor was great. Only 16.99, it would be at least $25 in Austin. Also ate at Texas Tradition and Mama's Kitchen (Port O'Connor), they were OK.

Tropics used to good in PLV, but it isn't anymore. Next time try Barkett's in Seadrift.

I don't know why it is so hard for PLV to have a good seafood place.

We were working out of Port O'Connor, but staying in Lavaca. We ate at Mama's Kitchen in POC, and their seafood wasn't even local and even seemed like packaged frozen. How can they not have fresh seafood? Maybe just inconsistent or low demand doesn't make it cost effective?

In POC, I've been eating at Captain G's seafood basket. It is good. Ate there last night actually.

La Finca is on 87 on the right just before you get to 35 if coming from Victoria.

Finca is my favorite Mexican restaurant in PL. Shellfish is a pretty good option as well - they have several tv's and nice bar area if you want to watch a game.

I'm going to have to try La Finca.

I haven't been to the Shellfish. I've heard it has a "weird" menu.

Barkett's has gotten worse every time I've been lately. We've stopped going actually. Heard great things about Bubba's though.
