I just recently graduated and I am working for a construction company. They sent me over to Port Arthur to work on Central Mall (pretty close to Port Neches). I was wondering if there were any Aggies in the area.
Okay, let me try this again. I am class of 05 but I graduated in May 06 with a BS in construction science. I moved to Houston and started working for Whiting Turner Contracting. My first day on the job they sent me out to Port Arthur. I have been out here since May 30. I travel back to Houston as much as possible. What is there to do in the area if you are single? Are there any young aggies in the area?
There are quite a few Ags in the area. A place a lot of young people go at night is Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont. Bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. there if you are into that sort of thing. To be honest though, the area isn't that exciting.
God bless you. It is hard enough to be single in this area when you are from here. Where are you staying? If you are looking for bars, the obvious place is Crockett St. A good place from time to time where I frequent is Sanderson's in Nederland. It has a decent bar crowd early on Thur - Sat. Usually before they go to Handlebar(Fri)or Crockett St.(Sat). Good TV's, Goldent Tee, Trivia, etc.
The HandleBar on Ninth Ave by Central Mall is a good place on the weekends. If you venture to Beaumont, try Madison's on Dowlen, Star Bar on Crockett or the Pacesetter off of Phelan. Oh! And Buffalo Wild WIngs off of Folsom in the new Kroger shopping center is a great place to watch any sport event. And if you like to C&W dance, The Dixie on Crockett has a young crowd. Will Bill's has been bringing in some top notch performers on Thursday nights, so listen to 101.7 for details.
