Wow! I have been out of touch with my alma mater since I've lived up here in the Arkansas wastelands so you can imagine my surprise to see my boys at 4-1!! Way to go, Sandcrabs!

WOW!!! 76-47???

What the heck happened in Port Lavaca in the last year? The last time I watched Sandcrab football, they were a weak, anemic team that regularly was stomped.

Two things -

1) A head football coach who actually knows what he's doing

2) Different district - they're not with Bay City and El Campo anymore. (actually, they were moved into this district a few years back and sucked as much as before....I think the coaches are making the difference this year)

We're going to the game this Friday....

We went to the game last night. Javelina Stadium was PACKED. We got there at 7 and had to sit on the visitors side.

The first half was really good, but Calhoun had a couple of special teams problems that gave Edcouch two easy touchdowns. That really gave them the momentum and we lost ours.

And, the running game that Calhoun has been successful with all year didn't work last night. The defense picked up on the fact that either the QB would keep the ball or he would give it to his RB. They got stopped multiple times.

Also, I have to say that some of the Edcouch "fans" we were sitting around were the rudest people ever. They started singing the "hey hey hey goodbye" song in the middle of the 4th. This is high school and that was rude. To make things worse, it was adults doing it...not a bunch of kids. I can guarantee that had the game been reversed, Calhoun fans would have never acted that way.
