April? Are you friggin' serious?

I saw Battershell on TV the other night commenting on the termination and future search. On moving forward, one of her emphasis was "diversity throughout the program". I don't know what she meant. Is the athletic department not diverse enough? Do we need emphasize "diversity" in the search?

Or, are school administrators simply conditioned and taught to say the word "diversity" at least once in every speech, interview, and announcement?

What's up with that?

don't a lot of coaches move in January so they are in place for spring practices?

Then they are going to hire Goldie? After all they are the wildcats.

And YES, many make the move in time to be at their new schools for spring ball--at least the head coach does.

Dr. Battershell has obviously never hired an athletic director/head football coach......

I will say this, I don't believe that the best coaches in the School District are coaching the girls' sports. Someone help me out on this, I know Title 9 deals with having as many girl sports as boys sports, but what about the coaches? Is there a rule about having as many women coaches as men coaches? Or women coaches coaching girl teams?

Edit: Captain, I think that may be what Battershell might be talking about when it comes to diversity throughout the program.

I am a former coaches son so I have a huge grapevine of coaches sons as well current and former coaches that I am friends with. And from what I hear Dodge is being considered. Along with a few others, also great caoches are not hired in the spring so like I said this hire will determine how serious they are about football. And as a town Temple needs to be vocal about the sittuation. Also I feel that education aside at the end of the day when it comes down to ATHLETICS it's about winning ball games!!! Say what u want but it is! Get a coach that will do that end of disscussion!

Uh, ARK, you've gone from Todd Dodge is the new head coach, to Todd Dodge is being considered, along with several others.

How seriously should we take you at this point?

Captain, You didn't get a word I said. The next Head Coach is also the Athletic Director. I don't know what Battershell meant by "diversity", but I can only assume she would be talking about all of the athletic teams and not just football. A female football coach? REALLY? You seriously thought that's what I meant?

Of course I didn't think you meant that. I just thought it was a weird context to bring up "diversity". But OK, no big deal. Rah-rah diversity.

Don't get me wrong, I want to get the baddest motha out there also. I would love Dodge or someone with his reputation to come here also. But I don't think the school district will put up the money to get him here.

On a side note, I have a sister who is a coach in the Temple School District and believe she should be coaching a position that is currently held by a male coach that should not be there. I'm a little biased on that issue. Sorry

Hey man, I don't have a problem with a chick coaching football. In fact, I wonder why we don't see more of it. Well, I know why. They have no playing experience and well, people aren't used to it. But, no reason a qualified woman couldn't coach football.
